Welcome to

We love kids! We love helping them to discover their world in a healthy productive way.  Day by day the children are gaining skills, confidence and the love of learning.

We are a Montessori Inspired Environment with a hands-on curriculum and expansive exposure to the world around them. This will sharpen their minds, help them to make connections, and set them up for a successful academic experience.

We look forward to sharing this world with your child.  This is a healthy, safe environment where every child is smart and talented!

Go Beyond Kids Director,

Taralyn Soresnon

What's in a name?

When Beyond Taekwondo was originally founded in 2002 it was under the name Competitive Taekwondo Club, or CTC. Over time, however, we realized that this name and logo did not represent our full vision, so we changed our name to Beyond Taekwondo, with the red swirls.

  • Beyond: Surpassing boundaries, becoming more than expected.
  • Taekwondo: At our heart we are Olympic Style Taekwondo, with all of its tradition and history.
  • Red Swirls: Continual growth & learning. We are constantly working on improving ourselves to reach the next level, in all areas of life.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What is Montessori?

Montessori is a philosophy that believes in following the child.  That is a broad term and we can help define it more here at Go Beyond Kids. When you follow a child, it means you follow their interests and give them the boundaries needed so they can thrive as a developing human. We teach them basic self-care skills and how to be a part of a community through the tenets of Montessori which are, cosmic (peace), practical life, and sensorial, along with the academics of science, language and math. As a child learns and grows the teacher helps create the path that will lead them to be successful and that is the philosophy of Montessori.

How do I incorporate Montessori at Home?

Each month we will send home assignments that help strengthen your child’s skills to achieve mastery. We also have resources that can help your home become more child friendly and become more “Montessori”. For example, if your child likes to pour milk you can buy a small pitcher or even use a creamer (these can be found cheaply at thrift stores) and you can pour the milk in the pitcher/ creamer and then the child can successfully pour the pitcher/creamer into a cup or bowl of cereal. They will love that they can do it themselves and this starts building intrinsic value.

Meet Our Directors

Director Taralyn Sorenson

Miss Taralyn has worked with children for more than 35 years from Montessori teacher, Special Ed teacher, Youth Program Director, and Taekwondo Instructor.

  • She is a Montessori Trained teacher with a degree in Psychology and a background in special ed.
  • Her mission is to raise strong kids who can problem solve, believe in themselves and reach their personal potential. When she is not teaching, you can find her in the garden, on a mountain bike, or playing games with her family.

Funny story: when her granddaughters started attending they would yell, “Grandma!” And run for hugs whenever she entered the room. The other preschoolers caught the energy and followed suit – so now most of the kids call her grandma, even the ones who aren’t related by blood. That is totally fine by Miss Taralyn. She claims all the kids as her own and is grateful for the love and light they bring into her life.
